Ron
Ron Gunzburger is an attorney, journalist, businessman, civil
servant, and owner of the sole-proprietorship that is Politics1.
Moving into the realm of new media, he created and launched the
Politics1 web site in late 1997 ... and created the popular HillZoo
website for Capitol Hill Congressional staffers in 2000. A trial
attorney since 1988, Ron has previously served as an Assistant
Public Defender, an Assistant Attorney General of Florida (RICO
Unit) and as a litigation partner in a large national law firm.
He is currently General Counsel & Director of Administration
for the Broward County Property
Appraiser's Office (Disclaimer: Ron operates Politics1 entirely
independently of his work with the BCPA office). The South
Florida Business Journal honored Ron and 39 others in 1998
with its prestigious "40 Under 40 Award" for achieving career
excellence before age 40. Before entering law
school in the mid-1980s, Ron served as a legislative assistant
in two Congressional offices on Capitol Hill. He began his political
consulting career when his mother Broward County Commissioner
Sue Gunzburger
first ran for political office in 1982 (she won that race and
won five more elections since then, and earned national fame or
infamy -- depending upon your politics -- for her prominent role
in the 2000 Presidential recount). Specializing
in direct mail and message development, Ron worked as a professional
campaign consultant for 20 years in over 125 campaigns ranging
from municipal races through Congressional campaigns. His innovative
and often humorous campaign ads have been featured on NBC's Today
Show, CNN's Headline News and in numerous print articles.
Selected by the US Secretary of Defense, Ron spent nine days participating
in DOD's prestigious JCOC program in 2001.
Ron volunteered
In January 2004 in
New Hampshire as a Howard Dean campaign GOTV ward captain in Concord
-- and first suggested the idea of Dean serving as DNC Chair on
this site in Spring 2004. In November
2006, Ron became one of the first major bloggers to openly
support Barack Obama for President. In his community, Ron is also
active in numerous civic and progressive organizations. Originally
from New England, Ron has lived in South Florida for most of his
life. He and his partner Dana currently reside in Fort Lauderdale.

in Central New Jersey. Vin is the owner of several businesses
and local newspapers including The Red Bank Monitor,
which is mailed to over 7,500 homes in Red Bank, New Jersey. He
is a native of Monmouth County, New Jersey, where he still resides
and is actively involved in political and charitable organizations
there. Vin is currently the president of Director Development,
LLC, and also runs East Coast Development for Democratic
GAIN. Vin is a graduate of Penn State University and is an
avid Nittany Lion fan.
Note: Despite
whatever personal political views Ron and Vin hold (and they are
both certainly skeptical, patriotic and opinionated) -- they work
hard to keep this site as non-partisan, unbiased and fair to all
as possible. In fact -- except in the blog when
writing items explicitly captions as editorials -- it's hard to
find any expressions of their personal opinions anywhere else
on this large site. While Ron's and Vin's opinions may appear
in the blog, they also provide the blog comments section so folks
who disagree can freely post counter-arguments to their views.
Ron encourages all citizens to become fully-informed on political
issues and actively involved in the electoral process.
